Biodiversity Informatics

Since 2007, Jeroen works as a part-time data manager at the Zoological Museum Amsterdam (ZMA) of the University of Amsterdam. The collection of this museum contains about 13 million zoological objects, but only a fraction is digitized. His work includes maintaining a central database system for the whole ZMA collection, validating, and cleaning zoological datasets and relating these with location and taxonomic data sets. Thee collection datasets are made available online according to international standards (through GBIF and the webserver of ZMA).
